BIO
Timothy J. Hambidge began his legal career in 1982, after graduating from Purdue University (1979) and the Indiana University School of Law.

He began as an insurance defense lawyer, working for four years as in-house counsel to Mutual Security Life Insurance Company in Ft. Wayne. He then spent another five years after that as an insurance defense trial lawyer.

Mr. Hambidge joined The Law Team in 1991 to handle personal injury law and general law. He became a partner in Olsen, White & Hambidge in 1994, and now spends the bulk of his time on personal injury law, disputed custody cases, estate planning for both young couples and older clients, and representing the small businesses that he calls “microbusinesses.”

“I don’t think I have a lot of small business clients,” Mr. Hambidge said. “I prefer to think that I have a lot of friends who just happen to own small businesses, and they let me represent them when they need help.”

Mr. Hambidge also handles the estates of deceased clients, and was an Assistant County Attorney for Warrick County from 1996 to 2000.

Mr. Hambidge volunteers about 10 percent of his billed time to pro bono endeavors.

Mr. Hambidge is a member of numerous professional organizations, including:

  • The Indiana State Bar Association
  • The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association
  • The Evansville Bar Association
  • The Warrick County Bar Association
  • The Indiana Bar Association, General Practice and Family Law sections

He also has been admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the Indiana Supreme Court, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Federal District Court for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.

On the homefront, Mr. Hambidge has been married since 1979 to his wife, Kathy Hambidge. They have three children – Emily, Brian, and Daniel – all of whom Mr. Hambidge considers “pretty great.”

After his heart bypass surgery in April 2004, Mr. Hambidge became very active in the Mended Hearts Chapter 107, Evansville, where he is a Hospital Visitor at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Mr. Hambidge is a member of numerous civic organizations, including

  • The Evansville Small Business Incubator’s Board of Directors
  • Volunteer for both the Evansville Bar Association’s Pro Bono Panel and the Evansville Bar Association’s “Ask A Lawyer” program
  • Religious education teacher at Holy Rosary Catholic Church since 1996
  • Former coach for both Newburgh Junior Baseball and Newburgh Girls Softball, and volunteer legal counsel for both leagues since 1990
  • Assisted Castle High School’s “We the People” government team for local, state and national competition for the past six years
  • Chairman of the Newburgh Summerfest Parade (1992, 1993, 1994, 2004 and 2005)
  • Member of Rolling Hills Country Club (Recording Secretary in 2001 and 2002)
  • Former member of the Newburgh Park Board, the Board of the Newburgh Youth Sports Association, and charter member and past president of the Historic Newburgh Kiwanis Club
